Urdu Literature in the 20th Century

The literature of any language is deemed to be healthy only if it evolves. Of course the Urdu literature cannot be any different. The indicator of the health of this literature too is its evolution.
The Urdu literature has undoubtedly evolved a lot. The Indian sun continental society before was a closed agricultural society. Nothing much used o happen in the peoples live. The whole life was spent in the same circle. At that time the literature used to depict such lives.

As the minds of the writers evolved, they saw several injustices in that very society. They observed how the feudal used to eat up the resources of the whole village/town etc. It was then they started writing against the feudal too. However a sad fact is that this problem still persists even in the society of today. So naturally, the writers are still writing about it.
The Indian women of the past were suppressed beyond imagination. So a lot of stories were written to highlight their agony. As the women got a better position in the society, this topic of Urdu writing also progressed. The writings on the rights of the widows are also rampant in the Urdu literature.
Some people argue that there is nothing regarding the science fiction in the Urdu literature even in the 20th century. However it cannot be called a shortcoming. The literature is the mirror of the society. The Urdu civilizations have always been far behind in science and technology. So how can Urdu literature highlight such topics?
