Official Status of Urdu

Urdu is national as well as one of the two official language of Pakistan second official language is English. Throughout the country Urdu is spoken by almost 90% person of the citizens. Normally Urdu is second language of Pakistani because on there are 93% of native speaker’s mother language is not Urdu.
Urdu is used is education system of Pakistan, courts, offices. It is the symbol of unity for the nationals of Pakistan, as almost every citizen of Pakistan can speak Urdu.

Urdu also have its significance in India as well and has official status in different states of India like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Jarkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and the national capital, New Delhi.
According to the constitution of Kashmir section 145 "The official language of the State shall be Urdu but the English language shall unless the Legislature by law otherwise provides, continue to be used for all the official purposes of the State for which it was being used immediately before the commencement of the Constitution."  Almost 90% of official work is still in English language. Locals of Kashmir are putting their effort to make Kashmiri and Dogri, second and third official language of Kashmir.
