Petition to Make Urdu as an Official Language of Pakistan Dismissed By LHC


Lahore High Court’s Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif dismissed the petition to direct Islamabad government to make Urdu as official language of Pakistan.
The petition was filed by a raised by local resident named Sana Ullah. He stated that Founder of Pakistan and Father of the Nation Mohammad Ali Jinnah wanted to make Urdu as an Official Language of Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam expressed his feeling in an address to the student of Dhaka in 1948.
Sana Ullah then added that even after 62 year, this was not done and English is still official language of Pakistan.The petitioner and his lawyer did not appear before the court in order to pursue the case.
