Lahore (September 22nd, 2010): Lahore high is seeking replies form Attorney General of Pakistan and Advocated General of Punjab regarding in an appeal to make Urdu as Official Language of Pakistan.
After taking up the appeal of one Sana Ullah, Lahore high Court called the concerned person to assist the case on 12th October, 2010. The petitioner said that English is being used as Official Language in Pakistan despite the fact that Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah wanted Urdu to be the official Language of Pakistan.
In his appeal he mentioned the fact that a vast number of citizens of Pakistan reads and writes Urdu. Therefore concerned authorities should change the medium of communication at official level to Urdu Language, as Urdu Language is spoken and Understood by majority of people. The petitioner further added that that those nations who use their mother Language as language of communication at official level promotes it, prospers in the world.
