National Archive of India acquired about 20,000 Books, Mostly in Urdu Language, Magazines, Newspapers, and Journals.

Recently the National Archive of India has acquired about 20,000 books, Mostly in Urdu Language, Magazines, Newspapers, and Journals. In addition, there are large number of exchange of letter between the Urdu writers and Urdu Poets.

Al-Hilal, newspaper edited by Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad received large number of photograph which includes photographs of Jawaharlal Nehru’s visit of the Aligarh Muslim University.
A large of number of collection belongs to Professor Ahmad Suroor, a very capable Urdu Scholar, which was gifted by his daughter Ms. Mahjabeen to National Archives of India. She said, National Archive of India is ‘a center of Excellence’. She further added that “I wish!  The National Archives of India will receive many more such collections”.
