Urdu Poet Shaharyar felicitated In Lucknow (part 2)

Shaharyar, talking about the people who says that Urdu Language is fading he said angrily “These people who clamor about the language dying down do not know it themselves. In fact they cannot even speak Urdu words properly.” He then stated, “Aaj ka din bahut achcha nahin taslim hai- Aane wale din bahut behtar hain meri rai hai” (Translation: It is accepted that today is not so bright but I am convinced that tomorrow will be better.)

Shahayar was awarded Bharatiya Jnanpith Award in 2008 which is India’s Highest literature award for his remarkable and memorable work in Urdu Language. The poet termed Urdu as “secular” language for its easy acceptability and adoptability of word from other languages. "The language has the highest number of sounds among all the languages prevalent in the world," Akhlaque Ahmed Shaharyar said. According to his view anyone who knows Urdu language can learn any Language of the world for its easy reception of sounds.
