Urdu Poet Shaharyar Felicitated by Jamia Alumni in Riyadh

Dr. Akhlaque Mohammed Khan "Shaharyar" was facilitated by Jamia Amuni in Riyad on for being awarded 44^th Janapith award. Several Urdu poets also attended the felicitation ceremony.

The President of Alumni Association, Mr. Murshid Kamal said on the award given to Dr. Akhlaque Mohammed Khan "This award is an award for the whole Urdu fraternity". About the poetry of Mr. Akhlaque Mohammed Khan, Mr. Murshid Kamal said each couplet of his poetry is masterpiece and leaves a permanent impression on one's mind. He praised the present poets at the event by saying "Your presence on our invitation is a testimony to the fact that Jamia Association is considered a highly reputed Association among the Indian community which has upheld its democratic traditions hundreds of miles away from home. We have our roles in the promotion of Urdu language and literature among the Indian expatriates community"

Dr. Akhlaque Mohammed Khan expressed his feeling to his friends about Jamia that it's just like a Second home to me. And thanked Jamia Alumni for organizaing the event.

Some of the poets who attended the Alumni are Mr. Fayyaz Farooqui (IPS serving as DIG in Punjab), Mrs. Nusrat Mehdi, Mrs. Deepti Misra, Mr. Nadeem Siddiqui, Mr. Afzal Manglori and Mr. Nusrat Zaheer.
