Indian Pakistani Urdu heritage

The heritage of any country or culture is extremely important. The heritage is made up by many important things; however, the language remains the most important of all elements. Urdu is the language of the two major countries of the South Asia. These countries are the India and the Pakistan. The importance of language to a heritage can be realized by the following quote of Confucius.
“If language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone; if this remains undone, morals and art will deteriorate; if justice goes astray, the people will stand about in helpless confusion. Hence, there must be no arbitrariness in what is said. This matters above everything.”
-- Confucius

So what exactly is the Urdu heritage of the India and Pakistan? The Urdu language is a very rich language. It should be preserved, so that the countries do not lose their touch. The Urdu poetry by Allama Iqbal is an excellent example of the poetic heritage of these countries. Of course, no single country can own the great poet exclusively.
The case of Urdu novels is also similar to the Urdu poetry. The great writers like Manto and Qurat-ul-Ain Haider belong to both countries. Neither India nor Pakistan can have an exclusive claim on these two writers. Asmat Chugtai is also a figure to whom both the Pakistanis and the Indians can relate. Save the Urdu heritage by promotion of the language.
